To help SMEs, mid-sized companies, and startups initiate their first innovation approach, Bpifrance offers the "Innovation Axes Diagnostic" program. This program, in partnership with Selego, combines BPI co-financing and personalized support from our teams of expert entrepreneurs

1. What is the Innovation Axes Diagnostic?

The Innovation Axes Diagnostic helps you identify new innovation opportunities or validate the feasibility of specific projects. Through the support of a technical or strategic expert, this program offers an in-depth analysis of your activity and ecosystem, as well as tailored recommendations to integrate innovation into your development strategy.

2. How to obtain a BPI innovation diagnostic

The Innovation Axes Diagnostic is available to SMEs, mid-sized companies, and startups meeting the following criteria:‍

Less than 2,000 employees
Haven't received innovation support for at least 2 years

3. Actions eligible for Bpifrance funding

The program allows financing innovation at the heart of your company, according to 5 distinct phases:

Ideation actions: Integration of an innovation approach within the company and emergence of new innovative projects.

Technical pre-studies: Initial evaluations of projects' technical aspects.

Technical-economic studies: Analyses combining technical and economic aspects.

Market studies: Research to evaluate the commercial potential of innovations.

Filing of a first French patent: Assistance for initial patent filing.

4. Aid amount and payment terms

Bpifrance covers 50% of the service cost, up to a maximum of €16,000 including tax. The grant is paid directly to the service provider after the diagnostic is completed and the company's share is paid.
